t'sall clean

I am having serious issues at my house w/ laundry.
I do remember my sister in law once posting a picture of her laundry problem. I can't remember if her clothes were clean or dirty, but the point is, I have seen that more people than me have a laundry problem.

I am trying to analyze myself.

Here's why... I LOVE the smell of laundry. Like do you ever go into someones house & they use a different detergent than you and it just smells "that much better". Or if you ever go for a walk at night and as you pass houses you can smell the sweet aroma of dryer sheets. My ultimate favorite is in the winter cause it's like the smell gets frozen in the air! Well that's beside the point.

Back to the analyzing...

I like the smell of laundry. When I take it out of the dryer & while I fold it, I sniff at it!

I like to wash it. The concept of having clean clothes and full hangers makes me happy!

I don't even mind folding my laundry...especially if forensic files or mystery diagnosis is on!

The problem is getting it all put away!

The past 2 weeks have been so hectic! School getting out, teacher gifts, new work schedule, my workout routine, girls summer camp / class registration, 7 peaks, blah, blah, blah.

So anyway, I have fallen WAY behind in the laundry department! I will do a load here and there...but not fold, just toss onto the folding table / shelf thing in the laundry room. So last night we got home kind of late and T asked if I knew where something of hers was. I was too tired to think and said I thought it was maybe in one of the piles in the laundry room. She had a 12 -year - old comment about it that I took the completely wrong way and had a meltdown. That in turn caused her to have a meltdown. So I felt like looser-mom-of the day. I stayed up late and did 3 loads of laundry (did not fold...piled) then this morning after she found whatever it was she was looking for, I decided to dump basketfulls of laundry out into the living room. (probably thinking that if I passed the pile ump-teen-million times in the day I'd do something about it) Well, tonight they are still sitting there. Laundry is not high on my list this week! obviously! And the best part is, this picture is only about 1/2 of it! The rest is in the laundry room & there is one load waiting to get out of the dryer!

So, help me out...Why is it that I let laundry get so overwhelming? Why cant I be a puke-o and do 1 load in a day...then it would be a quick & easy task...right?

And yes, the girls are probably old enough to do their own...but something keeps me doing it...and I swear that it may make me loose my mind...

Been gone a while...

I must admit that I have been out of the blogging thing for a while. :o

We were at Reid's b-day party the other day and I overheard someone talking about their blog and I thought it is probably WAY past time to get everyone caught up. If you're on facebook you probably get weekly (well just about) updates on what's going on with us.

Summer is finally here! I don't know why I look forward to the summer so much. I still have to work even though the kids are out of school, maybe it's just not having to stress about getting out the door super early, or panicking if homework is finished up! It just feels nice!

I'll do a quick update on all of us...
(it's a bit long...but bear w/ me!)

The Pets:
Genevieve is doing great. I took her to the vet today because she has had really goopy stuff in her eyes for the last couple days. I just thought it was sleepy gunk everyone gets over night, but really it's a doggy-eye infection. Poor girl!! Her new favorite thing is to go for bike rides! She is so small that we just plop her into Tikas old backpack and away we go! She sticks her head out to the side of me and pants just as if she had her head out the window! I will have to see if I can post the picture from my phone!
GrayCie-MayCie the cat is so fun! She is shedding super bad and I was actually thinking about attempting to vacuum her this weekend! Who knows - maybe a bath and a good brushing would be less traumatic than a vacuum. She has found a new "favorite spot" in the house.... the kitchen window. And even better, she puts her face right up to the faucet and meows this horrible - low - groaning meow! We turn the water on a slow trickle and she hits @ the water or drinks out of it like a water fountain! So cute.

C:
C is growing so fast it is unbelieveable! She finished up 2nd grade with straight E's! Yay bug! C is super duper excited that she got a repeat of her amazing teacher! I'm so glad prayers really do get answered. Miss H is teaching 3rd grade! Fun! C was baptized on May 2. She was SO excited and so proud that she "finally" got baptized! C is excited to play w/ T this summer and to go to a community art class!

T:
T is doing great! She is out of the 6th grade officially! Her teacher has "promoted" her to the 7th grade! She had amazing grades...smarty pants. Her GPA was 3.78! What an amazing young lady. T also graduated from primary. She is a beehive in YW and loving it! A couple weeks ago she recieved her first calling. She was asked to serve as the Beehive second counselor! fun. She is so happy it is summer and we have 7-peaks passes!

Me:
I am doing well. Aside from the messy-ness of the whole divorce process, I think I am doing well. I am still going to see my therapist weekly and I have also joined a group therapy session for women. It is so awesome, and I have met some amazing people. They have helped me through so much. The ladies have become great friends. I am still working and I enjoy it ... except for Mondays. I hate Mondays! My church calling, on the other hand, is still a bit of a stress, but it is getting better every week! About 2 months ago the Sr. Primary was WILD! I had stopped a few times and asked them to quiet down...it would work for a few minutes and then they'd hyper back up. I was ready to SCREAM. I looked at them and said, "would any of you like to do singing time today?" silence "no seriously...anyone want to take a shot at doing a better job than me?" This one kid shouted "ME!" I threw my hands up in the air and said "thank heaven!!" I went and sat down, and I stared at the wall w/ my arms folded - I was ticked - The room was silent - You could have heard a hair drop on the carpet - The leaders' mouths were on the floor - I made my point! I love it and I know that blessings will come, or have come, I just have weeks, like everyone else, that I want to be fired from my calling!!! Also a huge change has occured in my life. I have started to excersize. I had a mental meltdown 4 weeks ago and realized I must change my life! I started excersizing 4 weeks ago. I hired a personal trainer who has helped me a ton and I feel so much better! The girls have even told me I'm loosing my "this"....then they pat my sides where my chunk used to hang off the tops of my pants! So that makes me feel even better!

So --- there you go! the C~T~&~Me update!

We're Baaaack!!

Hello everyone!

So much has happened since I last blogged!

I have run into friends @ the store and talked to friends / family on the phone and everyone is asking what has been going on w/ our blog!

Well to answer the obvious...NOTHING!

Since the first of the year I have been trying to keep our lives stable!

For the most part I think it is working and now I think we are just about at a point that I can start blogging again! The only thing I don't know how to do is put pictures on. I am using an older computer that does not have the SD-card reader...but I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out at some point! All that is important now is updating everyone on US!

The girls and I are doing well. (that feels really good to report!!)

We started going back to church. I never realized what an amazing support group a ward can be! They have helped me through so much. In January I was asked to serve as the primary chorister. It has been fun and at the same time it has been a bit of a challenge. It keeps me on my toes, and I have enjoyed almost every week!!
Tika turned 12 and is a Beehive in Young Women's. She swears it is better than primary, but I think she is fibbing!
Carsun is in the Valient Class and super excited to get baptized in the near future!

I am going to individual counseling sessions each week and also a group therapy session. It's nice to be able to talk to people that have been through what I am going through and see that they have made it and become better people, as I know I will! The girls go to counseling one or two times a month and really enjoy their one on one time with their therapist. I believe that our counseling has helped us stay a strong family.

Carsun is doing so well in school. Her report card came home last week and she got all "E"s.(basically an A) Her teacher looked at me and said"There's nothing to say...Everyone wishes for students like Carsun in their class!" What a huge compliment!! She is an outstanding kid!

Tika is growing up so fast! She is almost as tall as me! Especially when she wears heels! Tika is also doing awesome in school! (Straight A's!!) Her teachers have a lot of fun with her. She is easy to joke with and a great help to other kids in the classes she has. Tika is a fantastic young lady!

Genevieve is doing great. She still snorts like a pig and snores really loud at night! She adds so much hyperactivity to our everyday life!! Chester moved out and then he ran away. We miss him a ton. He will always have a place in our hearts. (we just hope that he found a good home w/ a place to run & play!) And our new addition (well, loaner - pet) is GrayCie~MayCie, the cat...she is actually Rod & Melinda's. We kitty-sat about a month ago and never gave her back. {I've been trying to do that w/ Reid, but it doesn't work!! LOL!}

So, there's your 3 1/2 month update in a nut shell. I am so happy to be back on the blogging scene!

{Please leave me comments if you know how I can add pictures w/o an SD thing!}

Thank heaven for Ruth!

I am so grateful for my neice!
The other night I get a phone call, "Hello, auntie..."
and then the dreaded question...
"Auntie, did you even check to see if "thegirlsandI" was already a blog?"
my answer..."NO, is it taken?"
And of course, it was, and so was the 2nd choice. So I felt it VERY important that I make it known...
RUTH totally ROCKS!
Thank you RUTHIE for keeping your dud-of-an-auntie on her toes!
Se y'all back here on FEB. 1st!
